More than 151 participants from around the world recently attended the Department of Defense Cultural Resources Networking even. The Community Oriented Nature-based Science for Ecosystem Restoration and Versatile Engineering Research Group, or CONSERVE, was both an attendee and sponsor of the event.
CONSERVE director Michael Fedoroff also serves as co-director of the DOD Partners in Preservation Network, an initiative to create new partnerships and bridge resource management gaps throughout DOD programs.
“The University of Alabama has a proud tradition of supporting our Armed Services, and I am honored to help lead the DOD Partners in Preservation program alongside some of the brightest academics and professionals in the environmental and cultural resource management industry,” said Fedoroff. “This type of event strengthens our ties with the DOD community and provides potential opportunities for research partnerships with our UA CONSERVE Research Program.”
The network is composed of local, regional and national partners, military services, federal, tribal and state agencies.
